I’m Sachin Thapliyal. I’m a software engineer and a product manager, and I lead product teams.
I have been building and defining products for a vast spectrum of users in consumer Internet space for close to two decades. I have delved into B2C, B2B, eCommerce, finTech, eRealty, OTT, online gaming and ERP industries. I have worked with some of the most exciting companies, including Jio Platforms, MX Player, PayU, Housing, Paytm, Rocket Internet, and Oracle Corporation.
Before products, I started out as a software developer and wrote code for the first 8 years of my career, majority of which was with Oracle ERP Applications development. In the later part of my developer days, I worked on building an eCommerce platform, working on all the aspects of multi-tiered web based product development.
Learning about user behaviour on consumer Internet products fascinates me. I find solving structured problems for a B2B user as exciting as solving for instant gratification for a B2C user. I empathize with a user taking 7 days to complete a large ticket eCommerce transaction, and equally empathize with the one indulging in impulse buy under 7 minutes. I try to understand the intent of the user making a once in a lifetime house purchase, and try to understand the intent of a user consuming entertainment content passively, actively or interactively.
And I strive to create the perfect user experience for all.
I’m an engineer from the University of Delhi, majoring in Information Technology. I also did Senior Management Program from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, focusing on general management concepts across business functions.
I’m still learning, and love helping others to learn.
